After a highly gratifying 44 year career in Architecture, Bob has embarked on his "second career" creating art. 

Nearly all of Bob's professional life in Architecture was spent at Payette, a 185 person firm in Boston MA. The focus of his practice was in the design of science and engineering facilities for prestigious Colleges and Universities across the US. His projects received numerous local, regional, and national design awards. In 2015 Bob became a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects for his notable contributions to the advancement of the profession of Architecture.

Upon leaving Payette in December 2025 Bob turned his attention to painting. To support his pursuit of creating art, Bob designed and built Hawkes Nest, a beautiful art studio in downtown Marblehead MA. Beyond it being an inspiring studio/work space Hawkes Nest is intended to foster a community for creating, showing, and discussing art.
